  1. woo! brilliant, i love this kind of post

  2. Great idea for a post! I don’t know how you guys figured out all that info though. You must have been very organized during your trip!

  3. Good with numbers! I can’t believe the one – $US1670pp in visas? That’s a major!

  4. wow, thats a lot of stats. nothing more romantic than that!
thats one of the best salt flat perspective photos ive seen as well!

  5. So far I only knew about painting by numbers, now I have learned to travel by numbers too. Cute idea for a post.

  6. What on earth is GI testing?
Loved the numbers. I know my dorky Dad would love this post too. But being competitive, he’d just have to top it. I’ll have to be careful with this post.

  7. Dad McKnight says:

Thanks for the posting. The numbers help to put the trip into perspective. Never would have guessed you crossed the equator 10 times.

  8. This is great! Love it!

  9. Glad to see everyone appreciated the statistics. They actually aren’t so difficult to come up with given that we’ve done a post just like this 3 times before for the region we just exited.

  10. i am terrible with numbers and i am overwhelmed by your post. i like it big time! Ü

  11. Great post. What is GI testing though? Never heard of that.

  12. Awesome – I’m amazed you kept up with all these great stats. And how nice that you only encountered bed bugs once!

  13. Love number breakdowns! pretty cool! Looks like you guys have had a great time on the road! Not sure what GI testing is… but again, I guess I won’t learn anything from it… lol

  14. Oooh fun!! Just stumbled across ur site — will have to spend some time to dig around learning about your travels. But from those numbers, it sounds like it has been quite an awesome experience.

  15. GI Testing is when you poop in a cup to find out what’s wrong with you…..It either told us what we already knew (that we had bacteria) or it told us nothing….

  16. Oddly enough I’ve been robbed twice but pickpocketed 0 times too – does that mean we’re smart enough not to be pickpocketed but unlucky enough to be robbed.

  17. Impressive list! I’m gonna have to get caught up on all your travels. I haven’t seen too many travelers who go to places like Sudan!

    • We definitely hit some off the beaten track (not to be cliche) places. You can scroll through our travels on the Destinations page or from the home page!
