All you wanted to know and more about your favorite adventure travelers.

Jillian

At the Pyramids of Meroe

began her adventure in the outdoors at a young age.  Terrorizing campgrounds from Maine to Wisconsin, Jillian spent her early years outside camping, swimming, and hiking. Originally from the Philadelphia area, Jillian attended The George Washington University in Washington, DC where she pursued a career in political communications and journalism.  An avid athlete, Jillian has completed two triathlons and numerous adventure races with her husband Danny. Before setting off on their adventure Jillian worked as a program analyst.

Danny

Danny Underwater in Nicaragua

began his life on the beaches of South Florida before heading north for college.  A former rugby player and three time marathoner, Danny enjoys trail running and off road races.  A staple on the Washington, DC mid-day mall Ultimate frisbee pick up game, Danny is always looking for something to do outside.  He competes in adventure races and off road triathlons with his wife Jillian. After graduating from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, Danny worked as a business consultant for a Fortune 100 company before managing to save up enough money to travel the world with Jillian.  The two departed on their journey at the start of 2009 and didn’t return for 21 months.  Danny now works as a Certified Financial Advisor Professional and is the founder of Passport Wealth Management.

Lauren

graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Communication & Culture and without a clue of what she wanted from life. Luckily, she discovered working holiday visas. She has since worked in the US, Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. Her 30-plus jobs include movie extra, fruit picker, carny, waitress, bungee trampoline operator, ESL teacher, drug trial  recruiter, and writer. She also holds a Master’s Degree in travel writing from Kingston University in London. In August 2012, she and her Australian fiancé will complete two years of teaching in Korea, after which they plan to take South America by storm.  She blogs about working, traveling, and working travel on Lateral Movements. Follow her on twitter @LateralMovements or on Facebook.
