I wish you all the luck in the world. I would be interested in the list of items you found essential, very helpful, helpful, nice, not necessary.

I am a major traveller too. You and I are probably the only two people you have met that have been to Chichicastenango. Check out my map on facebook. You should get one too. Best, Richard (the tall guy, Mall ultimate).

Hope you guys have tons of fun on your trip!!!! its really weird to think we might not see you for two years, we are going to miss you! but not many people ever get to do anything like this, and this is what life is all about. dont get too hung up on taking pictures and writing everything down, the experience is what matters, you can tell everyone about it later… have an amazing time, and I hope I get to see you guys in some exotic place on a dig!!!!!!

We ended up takeing a boat ride out to see the Manta Rays jumping….really cool. While out there we saw a mama humback whale with her baby.
We left for La Paz to do the snokle trip that Margaret and David were talking about…WOW… snorkling with the sealions was a huge thrill I absolutely loved it..Thanks Margaret.
It was great to met you guys what an inspiration to get out there…good luck, I’ll keep checking in to see how yall are doing.

Hi friends! You are absolutely awesome! I visit your site time to time and check your trip. I am almost graduating, only 3 weeks and something like 50 pages paper left. This place is still cold though. Have a lot fun fun there! Especially for suffering foreign students entrapped in Binghamton.

Sweet Pyramid Pictures! I can’t believe those grasshoppers you guys were eating! (I saw the youtube video); I’m very impressed with the website, it’s so professional and easy to navigate!

  • Jillian said:

3 weeks and 50 pages? You can survive the cold for a few more weeks!!! Are you going to travel a bit or go back home? Let us know if you are coming our way. We should see you sometime next year at the very least. Hopefully by then you’ll have forgotten about the frozen tundra of NY!

  • Jillian said:

Take the summer off and come visit us. I promise no more grasshoppers!

The Teleferiqo in Quito will take you to 13,300 feet. Save your money and don’t buy the oxygen at the top. Shop Shop Shop for the least expensive Galapagos trip. Visit the graveyard in Guayaquil and the Iguana park. Don’t wear white! Iguana waste stains.

Great trekking with you guys around Salcantay. Hope you enjoyed the final day at Machu Pichu as much as we did. Am back in DC – already missing the mountains of peru (but not missing the food :) . Have some pics which I will email to you. Safe travels & Stay in touch! Riz

Hello, this is Andy Graham of HoboTraveler.com. My friend Chris arranged for us to talk in Panama. I saw the green icon in skype.com was online so I called it.

Some Bolivian man picked up, I speak Spanish so proceeded to ask for you, or ask questions. He hung up on me

Maybe you forgot to sign off or out.

    Dear Danny and Jillian,

its very inspairing what you do. I am very jelous of what you are doing. Spent for hours to you fotoes. I thought may be you would know and give me an advice about my plans for the winter how ever i can see how busy you are you might be on the go with the internet connection may be.

I am 30 years old female Turkish citizen. I am a
profecional tourist guide working for english speaking
tourist in Turkey. My aim is to learn spanish to be a
tour guide in Turkey with spanish language. Thats why i
am planning to come to Antigua to find a language
school but my budgete is not too much.

Do you think if i come to Antigua i can find a language
school and host family accommodation strait away in a
    short time?

When i loook at the schools in the internet they are
very expensive as there is a another agency arranging
it. I thought if i go to Guatemala and look for the
school after i arrive i can find cheaper school. But in
the mean time if it takes me too long time to find a
suitable school it means i will have to stay in a
hostel and spend too much money staying in a hostel.

As i am coming from non Europian country nor United
Stades but coming from Turkey with not powerfull
curency Turkish Lira i need to be very carefull on my
expenses. I have been saving money for the last 2 years
to come to Guatemala for 3 months to learn spanish.

Do you have any advice for me to give?

Thanks in advance and good luck with your travel. I would be more than happy to host you if you come to Turkey

Happy belated 3rd Anniversary. We love reading your blogs & your pictures are great. You have a very good eye when it comes to composing pictures. We heard all about your parents’ trip to Argentina. Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time. Stay warm & look forward to reading about places we’ll probably never visit. Looks like you’re “having the time of your life”(on a budget!).

@ Terry & Michael- Thanks!!! Although we spent it camping in a tent it was wonderful! Glad you are enjoying the pictures and the blog so much. We’re certainly having the time of our life traveling, but it does make us appreciate home. :)

Hey there world travelers! Keep on truckin’. Sounds like a good time still. Shan and I were talking the other day and we still can’t believe you guys have come so far around the world, and looks like there is not stopping you both : ). Remember, if your world travels ever take you through Portland, OR in the next year drop me a line and I would love to sell this city to both of you as a great place to settle down for more then a month ; )…oh, and of course you always have a place to crash with me here….unless Shan is taking up the couch…haha.
