This is one of our favorite photos from Africa. It is from the Safari we took in the Ngorogoro Crater in Tanzania near the Serengeti National Park. We let someone else do the safari driving for a change and rode around in a modified land rover whose roof popped up so that we could stand up and take pictures to our hearts content. These zebras were were just grazing, one of the foals was even nursing, not minding the lions just a mile or so away or the rain that seemed to be even closer. It shows the contrasts of Africa, how wild it is, and how quickly everything about it can change.

It’s one of our favorites. I always look at this photo and think “wow.” Are you going to Tanzania?
Rebecca says
Yep, Tanzania is definitely on the plan so hopefully we can stop by the crater too.

@Rebecca- Me too, it was stunning! It was deceptively large as well, as you drive in you start to see all these dots moving below you… then you get closer and realize they’re zebras or wildebeast or rhinos. It was really, really cool and tons of lions!
