Not as big as the pyramids at Giza, these pyramids in Sudan were without the crowds as well. This one had been reconstructed a bit, the one in the background hadn’t. All of these pyramids were looted by a treasure hunter back in the 19th Century. Unfortunately for both the treasure hunter and the pyramids, only one had anything valuable to him. That treasure now sits safely in a Berlin museum.

I love pyramids, even though I’ve never seen one in person, I find them so interesting and the history so fascinating. Great photo!

Thanks! These weren’t nearly as big as the famous ones in Giza, but it was so interesting to be able to walk into and around them without anyone else.
