Photo: Prague Castle

December 26, 2011 By Danny

As children we watch with awe as our military perform rituals such as these.  The guards at Buckingham Palace are legendary and although I’ve never been, each time I’ve seen the US Marine Corp I’ve been impressed as well.

I love this picture because it captures a moment in time, allowing these almost robotic soldiers to become somehow more human.  Watching them live, they seem perfectly in tune and unblinkingly united yet this still frame shows them how different and unique each one is.  Somehow I don’t think they would like it very much.

IF YOU GO:  Prague is a beautiful city and we decided it was worthwhile to splurge on a day walking tour of the city.  We managed to find a 50% off coupon in one of the hostels and were surprised when we were the only ones on the tour to pay such a low price.  It was an enjoyable day in a beautiful, yet extremely touristy city.

Photo:Happy Halloween

October 31, 2011 By Danny

Today is Halloween and how could we not celebrate it too!  This picture comes to you from Prague, Czech Republic where we took a cheesy ghost tour.  After each scary story we were visited by this man…..who had a knack for removing peoples heads!

"Ghost Tour in Prague"

To see more of our favorite photos from around the world check out our travel photo page. Let us know your favorites and we’ll include them in our photo of the day series.

IF YOU GO:  Do the city tour, it was worth it.  The ghost tour on the other hand….you’re better off enjoying a nice pilsner!

Photo Tuesday: All you Need is Love

December 28, 2010 By Jillian

As 2010 comes to a close, we thought this was the most appropriate photo to end the year.  A popular graffiti wall, the Lennon wall in Prague is full of quotes and art expressing all sorts of ideals and beliefs.  When we visited a small quartet played instrumental music from the Beatles giving the place a memorial like atmosphere.   Happy New Year!

Photo Tuesday: Prague’s Pirates

December 7, 2010 By Jillian

Prague is certainly a magical city but I never expected to hear sea shanty’s in its streets.  Sometimes you wander upon the most unexpected things on your journey.  We wandered upon a sea shanty concert in downtown prague.  Complete with eye patches and bandanas, the groups looked the part and sounded great.  I wish we had video taped the concert so you could hear sea shanty’s in Czech and English.
