What’s Next for Us?

December 20, 2010 By Danny

Short Answer: We don’t know, so stop asking.

Long Answer: We are back in the US of A attending to a lot of very important business. First we are catching up on our sleep and, during waking hours, reacquainting ourselves with mankind’s greatest inventions – pizza and m&m’s. We’re doing a family tour right now, stopping into a few corners of the country to see those people we haven’t seen in a while.IMGP1076 Pretty soon (after the new year) we will start hunting for gainful employment. With all of that comes three simple questions: What will you do, where will you do it, and what does the future hold for ishouldlogoff.com?

Starting with the easiest; what about ishouldlogoff.com? We’ve built a site and we intend to keep it. Over the coming weeks you’ll see posts about the end of our travels, our final thoughts, our high points and our low points. It is impossible to tell anyone what our favorite place was, although everyone asks, but we’ll do our best to share some of our favorites. After that, the site will probably change some. We will post a bit less and open up our site for others to post a bit more. It won’t go away but as we relive our travels, rather than share new experiences, change is guaranteed.

What we do and where we live are the more difficult questions to answer. Obviously it will be easiest for us to plug into our old life in Washington, DC, spending time with all people who grew to become our ‘chosen’ family in DC over the near decade we spent there before embarking on our big trip. First though, we have to figure out how we’re going to feed ourselves and we are fully prepared for that to take us elsewhere. We are tossing around lots of ideas for our future occupations ranging from full-time writing to CIA agents and international men….errr….people of mystery. (We’re fully open to any and all suggestions as well as offers of lucrative business opportunities.)

Whatever the future holds, for now, it is in flux. If there is one thing we’ve become accustomed to over the past two years it is not knowing such simple things as where we’re laying our heads each night and what we’ll be doing the following week. The fact that we have a couple of months to figure things out seems like an unintended luxury.
